Catching up

Hello everyone, this is my first post in ages, thought I would just write down everything that's happened since the last. Firstly I sold my house which is good, but I only have to April 10th to find somewhere to live. Which is bad. My sister and brother have moved out already so its just me. I've cleared out my mum's stuff and boxed up what I wanted to keep, I gave the clothes to Action Cancer at her request. On the band side of things its going really well. Been playing loads of gigs up and down the county, got a couple of gigs coming up in Scotland as well. We're playing the Empire tmrw (Wednesday 22nd March) should be on around 10pm. Gavin is coming to take some photos, which is cool cause his last ones we're rocking.
Have to go now because the person sitting next to me is scary <---------------- (over there). So I hope everyone is ok and I'll catch you later.

Hello everyone. Just letting you know whats been going on (regardless if you care or not. This is just a good place to advertise gigs).
Well I'll start where I left off, with the band. As you may have heard we have had to change the name due to legal goings on with the Jack Daniel's Copyright owners. So we are now Dynamo, ( www.dynamoband.tk ) also the new album is now finished and made. The launch is on the 26th of August at the Venue, Belfast (I believe we're on at around 10:30)£3 a 'pop'. We are playing with a band called 'Nice N Sleazy'. Again we are having a guest bass player as Chay is away to England to fight with swords. Micheal McNeill has kindly agreed to fill in, which is an honor because he just so happends to be the Number 1 Jazz player in Northern Ireland, which is nice.
(Please stop reading here if you are only interested with the band, the rest is just filler to make me feel better)
As with the personal side of my life, my mother is getting worse. Shes all bloated up like a balloon. My uncle and I have made made plans as to what too do with my brother,sister and myself. I have also deiced to split up with my long-term girlfriend (18 months) because, well, the band comes first. That may sound self-fish but hey, Bon Jovi never made it by putting music second. In other news I just put down a payment on a new 'tele' which I've had my eye on for awhile. As usual the Matchetts guys gave me a rockin' price on it. Well I better head on here,

BAND NEWS AND GIGS

Hey everyone. Just a line to say that we had two more successful gigs at the Venue and playing as part of the Green monster festival. In other news the new Demo is now into the mixing & mastering stage so expect a release date late August/early September. Not alot is happening atm apart from that, the JDE promotion team have been hard at work and lots is happening after the summer. I am pleased to announce that the JDE have been asked back to play at the Empire in October, more details to come on that. Alot of promo packs have been made and sent out but still waiting on alot of confirmations etc. Hate playing the waiting game, it sucks.

Yo happening?
Empire was rockin, really went off with a 'spark'. I think people enjoyied it. The 'Jack-ets' we're there in force (Thanks too everyone who came, you know who you are). Maged to book the Rosetta for 28th May Doors £3 (sorry thats the lowest Anmdy would let me put it,) I'd do it for free if I could but its not happening. Then we have the Frontpage on the 1st June, again £3, Soz about price.
Im trying to get a gig booked for the 24th, alot of ppl will have ended their exams by then and we should get up a good crowd. Ice is hard at work on the groupie, section on the web-site www.jdexperience.tk so that should be up soon. JDE have some new toys as well so this time it should be even better

In other news, I passed all my exams and Im just waiting around untill my course starts again in September. So I'll be spending from now till then playing gigs and doing what my mum tells me..YEAH! (hmm sounded better in my head).

Well Im gonna get the rock outta here, I'll see you all on Saturday or next wednesday

EMPIRE MAY 4TH

Well, we're all good to go for the Empire gig. A few loose ends which will me sorted out today. Final band practise in about 10 hours. Just going to run through both sets and tidy up anything thats left.
Heading to the Empire at about 11am on Wednesday to dump off my stuff etc and do my recording assignments etc. Matchetts are going to be cutting it close AVT wise. Im going to ring them in about 9 hours and ask if the AVT is going to show up, if it has Neil said they would loan it to me for the night. Paul did a set-up on the 1550 so its in top form. I'll check the SG in the morning. Have to leave that with stuart as I have to go too work today. Im hoping lots of people come to see us play. I think we play better to a bigger audience. The Empire should be packed though espec with the amount of promo we have been doing, so I expect us to put on a good show. I'd be disapointed seeing as we keep telling our selves that we're a live band, which I guess is true. Rock is designed to be played to the masses.

In other news, Tesco still havnt payed me. Im glad I give out free food and extra change now. I decied to go with the desk with the built in power amp as I paided £60 for an 800w power amp!. As usual the boys at matchetts gave me money off (£300 dropped to £230).

Well Livejournal I better get the rock outta here, gotta make the last of the CD's tmrw. Guess I'll talk to you after the gig.

Yo On-line page happening?,

We got the night-time slot. Not only that we're head-lining it. Got to go into Belfast tmrw to print off 500 flyers. Also Joni wants all the CD's for the gig. Sat up till 3am on Thursday making them. Got my new guitar, RG1550. Took me a good year and a half to track this one down but Finally got it. I'll be using it for the last part of our set. We're playing about 10 songs, so the band has spent the time tidying stuff up. Finally got some of my songs good enough to cut the 'mix' with the rest of the band. My favourite is 'Winging-it', which we will be playing at the Empire (May 4th).
The band has been doing so much promo stuff for this gig, got a few surprises planned for it as well. Handing out fylers in Belfast next weekend. Hopefully should get some good promo from that. Got to go and get Stuart his new guitar tmrw, also Im getting a new desk. But im confused as to get the UB2222FX without the built-in power amp or get the Euro-rack.

In other news Tesco owe me £100, gits. Mum is finally returning to work tmrw (after 6 months off), Might be moving back home to Portsmouth because my mum cant take it here anymore, I said I would go back with her cause I bloodly love it back there. Passed all my music exams, piece of piss. Now just have to decide if im going to Dublin this September or finish my course here next year.

YO just a quick one tonight, Just thought I'd 'drop' off up and coming gigs.

Yo writing page whats happening?
Just finished recording the album, Joni is currently working around the clock to master it and Stu is working on the art work. Got another gig booked, playing some 70/80's rock night so that right in my side of the court, getting payed for it as well so its pretty rockin.
On the album as a whole, im quite pleased with it, worked out a bangin way to record it using the v-amp via the headphone amp so Joni could do his stuff without bleed into the drum mic's.
Got the job in tesco, not too bad. Matchetts are FINALLY getting my amp in, 150h & Cab here I come. This AVT is gonna blow me away. Are stuff should sound Ace through it.
Mum has finished her medication now so she's getting back to normal. rhys is away shooting ppl atm, hes getting promoted soon so hes loving that.
Hoildays now so gonna get back to writing stuff for the next album, got a few ideas floating about with Stu. Bon Jovi & Iron Maiden soon HELL YEH.

Well writing page im outta here, Angus is calling. I'll let you know when we got gigs coming up.

Yo on-line writing page, whats rockin?
Not much been happening. Finaly got ahold of a PA for are acoustic set. You should hear the band now, we're as tight as a nun. Stuarts' really been going balls-to-the-wall with his writing so we're starting to really come together.
On the job front went for yet another interview, starting to think maybe its me, aint no way im cutting my hair for a 10% discount card.
Atm im trying to fix one of the PA speakers, not that big a problem but its would help out alot if my PA was working great cause the acoustic gig is in that big a building so dont want to distrot the sound
Well as Def Leppard says "Lets get the rock outta here"

Hello once again on-line page to which I write. By-Jovi last night was rocking. Got to watch the sound check with Dee, talked me through it etc. Also got talking to the guy about his talk-box, gave me a few ideas about it.
In Recent news Job sucks need tesco to hurry up and get back to me..quickly! Added Steffi to friends list also found out that no-one can supply us with boradband which sucks but I'll keep searching. Ice & goose coming the weekend of the 29th, with Megadeth on the 2nd, should be good.Cats ordered me to stop talking to her but dnt worry lj, I'll sort it out...when I can be arsed.
Had a few exams last week but as usual they were all piss, course is so easy. Should have done music a long time ago. Still got this exam in march that I have too pass so im gonna have to go
'balls-to-the-wall' and revise like beethoven.
On the band side of things, aiming for gig in middle of febuary. Gotta make sure we stay away from the mono-tone sound that everyone listens too now days, ugh can u only sing one note!
Well Ice has made an apperence and I dont like to keep my fans waiting.

Gig at ccb got cancelled today, abit miffed about that was looking forward to playing home gig.
Applied for tesco job, should get it. I'll be working in coyles Monday and thursday, Tesco Tuesday, wednesday. Once I hit £700 im going to quit Coyles, cause its not the greatest job in the world.
Found Transformers: The movie on video again, been watching that a shed load recently, forgot how bad-ass it is.
Got some coursework to hand in next wednesday but should get it done. In the middle of planning Ireland, tour. Andrew had better like it cause its taking me ages. Had trouble finding place in Cork but sent off a shed load of e-mail for specs etc.
By-Jovi this saturday, Going early so I can help Dee with the sound set-up. Also need to talk to 'Richtie' about how he set-up his talk-box, prob just uses a SM57 beta via the PA but I'll see on saturday. Need to find out before May cause I have gig in the Empire and dont want it to mess-up.
Band is really starting to come together. Got about 20 songs now, 6 of are own the rest are our version of covers. Decied we're ont gonna play any covers tmrw, jst are own stuff hopefully get some more stuff down.
Ice & goose are over next weekend, Ice wants me to find him a biker jacket, so I'll ask about, got a few ideas.

Was going through old e-mails and found my password so I thought I'd write. Not much has happened recently, quit my job today (12/01/05) just gotta get my money from when I worked, should be getting it this friday.
Bands going well, had a practise almost everyday, things are really starting to take shape. Got about 10 songs layed down. Heading over to Joni's sometime next week to get demo tracks sorted.
In other news, Frenchy got sent back home so the team is pretty down at the moment but I've arranged a rocking weekend to see By-Jovi with them so it should rock, just gotta get Goose out from ccb.

Not much happened over last week.Bro's over from England to help out my mum and us. Got to go to ranstad tmrw sort out training dates. Horrible experience on sunday but thats out of the way so carry on with things.Rebuilt engine and put it back in the car, booking MOT this week, car should be back on nthe road for about january/feb with test ion feb/march.
Havnt got anything planned for N'years prob jst go to Adams or jonis and lay down the first tracks to are demo, got gigs booked for first part of the year, Empire in May.
Got to get Avt150h sorted from those gits in marcus.
